Middendorf Excavating is often called upon to perform the partial demolition of a structure where only a portion of the structure is to be removed. These types of projects are often times too dangerous or complicated for other demolition contractors to perform. We are capable of dissecting a structure so that the remaining portions are properly supported and remain in a structurally sound condition. We can provide whatever shoring, scaffolding or earth retention is necessary to ensure the stability of the structure and the safety of the public. We can also provide structural engineering services so you have the comfort of knowing that your remaining building will be structurally sound.

Middendorf Excavating recycles most of the demolition debris generated at a job site and lawfully disposes of all other debris and waste. To help reduce the cost of demolition, we carefully monitor the ever-changing recycling markets. We have access to numerous purchasers of all ferrous and non-ferrous metals along with used machinery and equipment from many industries. We are recycling greater percentages of the waste than we ever have in the past. Nearly all demolition debris, including concrete, brick, lumber and steel, is being recycled to the maximum extent possible.

Middendorf Excavating also has the equipment and personnel to handle the safe and legal disposal of any debris or waste that cannot be recycled, including special and hazardous waste streams. As a licensed special waste hauler, we can provide hauling and disposal of materials such as asbestos, contaminated soils, PCBs, waste oil and other chemically contaminated materials. We maintain ongoing relationships with major landfills and transfer stations as necessary for legal and prompt disposal of all waste. Having worked in the St Louis Metro Area, we are also very familiar with working on structures that have historical significance.

Middendorf Excavating has earned a reputation for safely and efficiently demolishing all types of structures including heavy industrial buildings, large commercial structures, refineries, smokestacks, and  residential properties. Many projects have required the total removal of a building or structure from extremely densely-occupied areas. Regardless of the size or location of the structure, we have the equipment, workforce and experience to successfully remove the structure. We are a union contractor and have signed collective bargaining agreements with the local unions for laborers, operators and teamsters. As a union contractor, you have the assurance that our workers are highly trained and qualified. Our workers also have experience with dust control along with noise and vibration reduction so that your project can be completed without disruption to you or your neighbors

Middendorf Excavating  is fully licensed to decommission and remove underground storage tanks no matter the size or contents. We are certified in UST removal/decommissioning and all employees involved in the work have received OSHA 40 Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard training. Every UST removal is supervised by The Office of the State Fire Marshall. We can assure you of the safe and lawful removal and decommissioning of any UST’s you might have.

We also have extensive experience removing above-ground tanks of all shapes, sizes and content including wooden, steel and concrete tanks. We can remove these tanks from any location including roof tops.

Our Insurance has the highest limits available in the Industry. Including a 10 Million Pollution Policy.
